I usually find it kind of phony when corporations get a bunch of celebrities together for a good cause. The Gap Red campaign for example spent more money paying celebrities to pose than the money ultimately collected and sent to HIV-related causes. But this month's Vanity Fair selection of covers is quite impressive. Instead of phonying for a cause, the articles serve to highlight and call to attention these various philanthropists (ugh, do Bush and Rice really count?). It is done in a very cool way---photographically speaking.
